yeah, there are two mounting positions for my brake, the one in front is for slammed and close to slammed... and the other is when it's closer to the outside of the dropouts. a lot of horiz. dropout bikes have adjustable brake mounts though. and no, it doesn't chip really easily, if anything you can just put more polish on it. i have a clear coat as well on top of it for extra gloss and protection.
